Polymite custom shower pans are installed similarly to our decks. Because the pan is meant for water, we double up all flashing points and corners, anywhere water can find a way in. Shower pan installation takes place before any sheetrock, green board, or Durock is installed. The drain (flange) MUST BE FLUSH OR BELOW DRY PLYWOOD. The drain must be secured with nails or screws in the lowest portion of the pan to drain properly. Polymite can install the wood with pitch to assist. We block the walls to ensure there are no gaps in between studs. The fiberglass pan will copy the surface of the pan that has been prepared. The substrate must be solid and secured neatly.
